COURSE DESCRIPTION
The risk of fall is high among stroke patients and falling is one of the most frequent complications among stroke patients in rehabilitation. Many falls in stroke patients are caused by
various intrinsic mechanism such as those impairments caused by central vestibular dysfunctions. Vestribular disorder is common after VB circulation stroke. And thisdysfunctions are often overlooked in designing a comprehensive stroke rehabilitation. This one-day course will introduce the participants to central vestibular dysfunctions in stroke, how tocomprehensively assess and design a program that will address the impairments caused by this dysfunctions. Participants will also be introduced to current technology that incorporate games andvirtual reality to Neurovestibular approaches in stroke rehabilitation.

COURSE OUTCOME
At the end of the course, the postgraduate students will be able to demonstrate knowledge in the assessing, evaluating and designing a comprehensive rehabilitation programs for stroke patients with
central vestibular dysfunctions.

TOTAL OUTCOME
At the end of the session, postgraduate participants will be able to:
• Discuss the prevalence of central vestibular disorder in stroke patients.
• Identify the different types of CVA’s with associated vestibular disorders
• Describe the common clinical manifestation, clinical outcome and course of recovery in stroke patients with central vestibular dysfunctions.
• Explain the pathophysiology and etiology of central vestibular dysfunction in stroke.
• Differentiate central vestibular dysfunctions from peripheral vestibular dysfunction
• Describe the essential assessment procedures needed to assess central vestibular dysfunction.
• Explain the treatment strategies in addressing central vestibular dysfunction in stroke.
• Recognize current technologies that can be incorporated in the enhancement of the neurovestibular rehabilitation program for stroke patients.
